I bought these to replace my Merrell hiking boots, which I had for almost six years. The leather toes started to split allowing in water. However, the soles are still intact. Living in a city, I don't do much hiking, although I have used them a few times for this purpose. I wanted a pair of boots that kept me warm and dry during the cold and wet seasons.I received these boots just before a cold snap so I really got to test these out in the snow and rain. These did not disappoint. They have kept my feet dry and warm when the temperature dropped. However, when it became icy, I did double up on socks and I was good to go.Reading the reviews, I bought half a size up and they fit like a glove.Only time will tell if these boots will last. After researching a lot of boots, the main issues are the durability of the soles and the endurance of the waterproofing membrane. I intend to spray my boots regularly with waterproofing agents as I did with my previous boots.I hope the Vibram soles live up to their claim and last for another six years. I will update this review accordingly. Otherwise, I'm very happy with my purchase.
