When I first got this jacket I thought there was a mistake and that I had been sent only a weird raincoat. It’s so thin and lightweight but I’ve put it through so gnarly winter weather and it’s kept me warm down to 20 degrees with just the jacket and a shirt while riding. It’s warm, waterproof, and so breathable you won’t believe it’s actually waterproof until you wear it in a downpour and stay dry!It is sized using Gore’s funny sizing system (size up if you want to wear it over anything bigger than a time trials bib). And it has a weird texture to the outside of it because I guess it’s not really a ‘fabric’ but is instead the rain membrane alone. This membrane technology is the source of its greatest strengths (waterproof, breathable, lightweight) but also it’s three weaknesses;it comes in brown/gray or in black (not ideal for visibility but it does have reflective highlights),it can’t be used as waterproof with a backpack (the water will press through on the straps/back),and it is fragile! The fragility is why it lost a star, I put a small tear in it walking past my stucco house when it caught on an edge. If you happen to fall while wearing this jacket you’re probably gonna have to send it in for a professional repair because the membrane is not something you can just sew closed.All in all, it’s the nicest jacket I’ve ever owned for cycling but requires some babying to make sure it doesn’t get damaged when I’m off the bike.Great jacket, light, waterproof, wind proof perfect for road cycling .
