They ARE really stiff for hikers. It is going to take a few weeks to break them in. If I would have tried them on in a store I WOULDN'T have bought them.I tried them on in my house and they felt comfy. I wore them to work the next day and realized they were to stiff. I would have returned them but now I won't since they are worn.They are much stiffer than my older earth keepers.Nice fit but the toe box is a little small. They fit but if I would have had it to do over I would have ordered a half size bigger due to the toe box.
